Charleston's Kathleen Wilson to enter S.C. Athletic Hall of Fame

Kathleen Wilson is one of seven people named Monday to the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2018

Class of 2010 Liberty Fellow Kathleen Wilson brought marathon swimming to South Carolina in 1997 with her first long swim around Key West, FL. Over the next 20 years, Wilson successfully completed the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, the English Channel, the Tampa Bay Marathon Swim, the Catalina Channel and a swim across Lake Zurich, Switzerland.  Wilson also became the 12th swimmer in history to complete the Triple Crown of marathon swimming: Manhattan, English Channel, and Catalina Channel.  Wilson is the race director and founder of the annual 12-mile Swim Around Charleston, begun in 2011, and the 2018 Global Swim Series American Championship event.  

Kathleen is one of seven people named Monday to the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame class of 2018.  The class will be inducted May 14 in Columbia at the Metropolitan Convention Center.  For more details, click the article link.
