Greenville, SC – Liberty Fellowship today announced plans to accept nominations for its second Liberty Fellowship class, the Class of 2007, beginning January 1, 2005.
“When we sought nominees for our inaugural class, we received 215 remarkably qualified nominations for 20 Fellowships,” explained Hayne Hipp, Founder of Liberty Fellowship and Chair and CEO of Liberty Corporation. “The group of nominees from which we chose the first class was so stellar that we felt it important to host a second class immediately.”
Liberty Fellowship, the statewide leadership effort sponsored by Liberty Corporation, Wofford College and The Aspen Institute, seeks to inspire values-based leadership among South Carolina leaders aged 25-45. In addition to participating in a series of highly interactive seminars over a period of two years, each Liberty Fellow initiates a community project under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
Liberty Fellowship to Accept Nominations for Class of 2007 in January 2005
According to Bernie Dunlap, Liberty Fellowship Moderator and President of Wofford College, "As a Moderator, I feel qualified to say the greatest boon afforded Liberty Fellows is the privilege of each other's company. Our state is not so small that all our most gifted young leaders know each other already, and the Fellowship delivers precisely what that term suggests. The prospect of a second class is very exciting."
Fellows must be nominated by leaders in business, government and the non-profit sector.
Liberty Fellowship will begin soliciting nominations for the Class of 2007 in January 2005.
