CHARLESTON, SC - November 7, 2011 - The Citadel Alumni Association (CAA) Awards Committee has named Dan Johnson the CAA Young Alumnus of the year for 2011.
Each year the award is given to an individual who has shown exemplary service to community, state and country.
“As a ‘citizen soldier’ in every sense of the word, Dan Johnson represents our college with great pride and distinction,” said CAA Executive Director Michael Rogers. “He is a role model for other alumni and cadets and for that we are grateful,” adds Rogers.
Johnson a 1993 graduate of the Citadel is the 15th solicitor elected to the Fifth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina serving Richland and Kershaw Counties. Johnson is also a Captain in the US Army Reserve and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He will receive a plaque during the Annual CAA Luncheon on Friday, November 11th at 12:00PM in the John Holliday Alumni Center and will stand along with General Rosa to review the Corps of Cadets during a parade on Saturday, November 12th at 11:00am in Charleston.
