The Environment Forum focuses research and discussion on the Environment in South Carolina, its issues and how they may be resolved. The role of the Forum is one of dialogue, discussion and exploration – the Forum does not take explicit positions on the issues.

The hope is that participants gain an understanding of Environmental issues so they can take leadership or collaborative roles outside Liberty Fellowship to develop and implement solutions that will positively impact South Carolina.

Liberty Fellows in the Environment Forum identified the following topic as their focus for research, review and discussion:
Residential Energy Conservation
South Carolina’s consumption of energy is the 21st highest in the nation. In terms of household energy cost to consumers, South Carolina ranks 10th highest. The Environment Forum aims to shift South Carolina from lagging in this area to being a leader in this area through sustainable, energy saving models.
