The external evaluation used a case study approach based upon extensive one-on-one interviews. Interviews included a mix of closed and open-ended questions with Fellows, Senior Advisors and Moderators.

- 88% of Senior Advisors
Key Findings:
- Fellows and Senior Advisors identified opportunities to strengthen projects. A vast majority (85%) of Fellows requested continuing opportunities to work with Fellows from other classes and geographies.
- 100% of Fellows have identified explicit personal goals to make South Carolina a stronger state. These goals touch upon nearly every pressing issue facing South Carolina – health, education, environment, public policy, and economic development and reflect personal passions as well as professional interest.
- 90%+ of Fellows attributed more effective leadership to Liberty Fellowship.
- Fellows' leadership examples spanned changing organizational strategic direction and “taking the plunge” to aspire and achieve positions of greater influence. Many noted a new-found courage to speak and act.
- 90%+ of Fellows reported great improvement in ability to work with, understand and respect views of those who are different. A number of Fellows noted unlikely and lasting friendships with someone very different that broke down closely held and sometimes cherished stereotypes.
