Does the Liberty Fellowship matter?

Fellows say that the Liberty Fellowship experience is one of the best things they have done in their lives. The greatest impact, according to Fellows, is the time spent in honest dialogue with peers who are substantively different. The net impact, they say, is a fresh way of thinking, deciding and acting. Fellows cite the courage to act, speak and lead as a core benefit.

Senior Advisors say that the Liberty Fellowship demonstrates that traditional barriers - stereotypes about gender, ethnicity, geography, etc. that stand in the way of progress - are being torn down one Fellow at a time.

Board Members note that Liberty Fellows who had not have been involved in any state level initiative are getting involved at a higher level. Organizations have added fresh new thinkers. New connections and networks fuel this infusion of talent at the state level.

Moderators say that with required readings that span from 300 BC to an article published a month ago, readings are clearly important. Socratic dialogue led by moderators who have worked with leaders in industry and governments across the globe does sound pretty intellectual. Make no mistake. This is not a theoretical, didactic leadership program. The Liberty Fellowship is a pragmatic, demanding experience that empowers leaders to step up a level. The expectation is action.

It expands my opportunities. The interaction has expanded my thinking. The body of work we read is very important in terms of what is possible for tomorrow.
